Just because the packages are the same, doesn't mean they do the same thing.

If I didn't know that Hershey was a place in Pennsylvania, I think I'd be super excited about going to the Hershey Hospital, but I don't think any parent would send their kids there to get healthy.
I read an article recently about opinion vs. fact, and that if you have a negative opinion about something that is proven to be a fact, you are, in fact, wrong. It's a rather funny article that makes a good point. No, It's Not Your Opinion, You're Just Wrong.
Example: The weight is 50 lbs. But my opinion is that it is not... (I'm wrong) Stating opinions as facts, or arguing against facts using opinions has become such an epidemic that it made me think of how research is changing. Research: Diligent and systematic inquiry or investigation into a subject in order to discover or revise facts, theories, applications, etc. Modern Research: Form an opinion, google search for a blog article that holds the same opinion... I'm right. Done! So I guess by quoting a opinion based blog post at the beginning I'm making a crazy kind of paradox! If I'm right, then I did modern research which I criticized, if I'm wrong, I'll claim that it's just my opinion and in so doing, I defied the entire premise of this random thought. I'll leave that up to you to figure out! Ha Ha Ha!!! |
