As the news has unfolded regarding the tragedy in Orlando, I've noticed that it has almost, almost united a nation. But we're not there yet. The President, the majority of the people polled, and even Fox News personalities Bill O'Reilly and Cretchen Carlson agree that something need to be done in regards to gun control, and that power lies with our congress.
We need to speak up because congress has the power to debate and decide if certain guns are safe for people to own for private use. Just like preventing private people from owning an automatic machine gun, a bazooka or a hand grenade, congress has the power to make our country safer while still upholding the second amendment. This is a discussion and a debate they need to have for the safety of Americans. That is more important than a special interest group, or a political party, or endless stalling. American lives should be the priority of these 'public servants.'
As I said before, I'm not trying to start a fight with those who disagree, just making one more voice to support as Grethen Carlson said, "Common sense." Something needs to change so we don't repeat the past.
With our Prayers for the victims and their families, we should also add our actions, because "Faith without works is dead." (James 2:17)
