While I have been doing some reading it got me thinking about why I write and what got me interested in writing in the first place.
In school I was always assigned books I didn't want to read. They were classics or filled with literary elements that I apparently needed to learn. I was more interested in math and sciences so after struggling through a couple of chapters, I watched the movies or asked friends what happened in the books.
*Hint* Don't watch the movies, they are different and the teacher will know!
But after struggling so much with these 'classic' books I grew a little bitter and stopped reading books all together, until I found something that was actually interesting to me. Ogre, Ogre by Piers Anthony was the first book I remember reading in high school and not being able to put down. It changed the way I looked at books, it change the way I thought of reading.
Reading became an adventure for me. It opened up worlds of possibilities and creativity that I didn't think were possible. That's why I write.
I don't see myself as a great writer, but I do have some fun stories kicking around in my head, and I've always loved telling stories. So as I write, I hope that my books can spark something for you. I hope they can bring you to new places and perhaps reach someone who, maybe hasn't yet found an adventure on the pages of a book.
