The other night I was coming home from a business trip and my wife was leaving around the same time I got home. When I walked in the door it was time to start making dinner.
My wife had mixed up pancake batter, and had everything ready to go so I could come home and make one of the kid's favorite meals (breakfast for dinner).
After getting the pancakes out on the griddle, I threw in some chocolate chips and blueberries into them. The kids went crazy for this wonderful meal that 'I' made for them.
This is sort of like what mothers do all the time. They do all kinds of background stuff that often goes unnoticed. I can't speak for everyone, but I know with me, my wife is the one who makes it possible for me to be a fun dad. Just like sprinkling some blueberries on the pancakes she made, I am able to do fun things with the kids because she keeps everything together all day long every day. It is that way with so many aspects of my life.
There is no way for me to fully acknowledge her, especially in a small paragraph in the back of a book, but she is simply amazing!
