Reese’s Cowboy Kiss by Kimberly Krey is the third book of a series, but really the first series, but now rearranged now that all the books are out first book in the series. Confused? I was when I read that. I had actually read the first book in this series (which is now book 3 in the series) a while ago and really liked it. What actually happened is the author came up with the idea for the books in reverse time order. So she wrote the youngest brother’s story first and then went back in time and wrote the other brother’s story. So this book is the oldest brother’s story. But now that they are all written she reordered the books to be in chronological order.
So this book follows Reese who witnesses a murder and is actually the intended target of the murder and needs to be protected while the police find the killer. So she gets sent up to a ranch in Montana, where she meets Blake the foreman and owner of the ranch. Blake didn’t realize that he was getting a female to protect and is surprised by her warm and vibrant personality and beautiful good looks. They have lots of chemistry, but he doesn’t want to get close to her knowing that she might just up and leave soon. But romance blooms anyway.
I liked this book. It was a fun read and I stayed up late to finish it. Since I had read one of the books from this series I knew the outcome of some of the story line. I liked the comradery between the two main characters and their chemistry. The mystery behind the bad guy was a little strange and not quite clear, but I still wanted to see what was going to happen. As in most books there were annoying things here and there, but for the most part I thought that this book was enjoyable to read. Now I just need to read the last brother’s story!
I really enjoyed this book. I give is a 4.5 stars.
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
