My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Golden Son, the Dramatic second book in the Red Rising Series was a great second book. After setting up a unique world in Red Rising, Brown jumps right into an amazing story.
It has the depth of political intrigue, deep characters, betrayal, love, and war all woven together into an amazing story. Although there is depth and character development Brown does a great job of making sure to keep the story moving forward. In that way it reminds me of Brandon Sanderson, Truly a pleasure to read.
At a couple of points during this reading there were several new characters, and old characters brought back from Red Rising, and I do admit that I was a little overwhelmed with the number of people, but that did not distract from the main story line, or the pleasure of reading.
The last chapter blew me away, I'm not going to spoil anything, but I think you want to have a copy of book 3 before you start reading the last chapter of book 2.
