The wife maker by Karey White was a cute clean romance book. It was the third book in a series and could be a stand-alone book. I think it could be because I read it having not read the previous two books and quite enjoyed it. I could tell at parts that I should have known a bit more background (because it was probably told in the previous books) but it did not distract me from jumping right into Charlotte and Angus’ romance.
So this book, I presume, picks right up where the second book ends. Angus has been in love with Charlotte for years and she has been oblivious until he finally tells her. She doesn’t immediately jump into his arms but leaves breaking his heart. After she leaves Charlotte realizes that she does in fact love Angus, she comes back to tell him, but he has decided to move on and leaves the state for a medical fellowship and residency. With the encouragement of family and friends she decides that she isn’t okay with not being with him and follows him. But Angus is one stubborn guy and refuses to open his heart back up to her again.
I really thought this was a cute story, but I found Angus a bit ridiculous (which is kind of funny to me because usually it’s the girl in the book that is annoying). Here is he “love of his life” dropping her whole like and making a big act of love and commitment and he just throws it back in her face. There are definitely some cute and touching moments in the book. I was routing for them to make things work. Not wanting to give everything away, so I will say I enjoyed the story.
I give this book 4 out of 5 stars. If you are looking for a cute, fun, clean book. I would recommend this book. Now I just need to go back and read the first 2 books to get the full story!
I was given a copy of this book as part of the blog tour and in exchange for an honest review.
